There is a map. A student (for each crusade a different student) has to point the starting point of the first crusade and follow the route until the end. Then the class discusses the crusade in terms of aims, planning, choice of route, strategies, consequences and results. The same is done with the other 8 crusades.
In this project students will work in a subject integrated way. They will enhance their knowledge of an important historical period with the help of a blog-based role play.
Each student will create a character of their own, an avatar, in the city of Rosenheim, situated in the south of Germany. The character will live, act and reflect on events in Rosenheim, in Germany and in the world during the time period of 1919 – 1945. The identity of the writer (the student) will be kept secret from the readers of the blog.
5. In the following minutes the students in small groups of 2-4 will find the most important Plato’s thoughts and quotes (preferably from politology, but not exclusively). They will match these with the correct field of Plato’s philosophy (ontology, gnoseology, politology, logics, etc.) and then they will introduce them to their classmates. They can start a discussion on whether the students agree or disagree with the statements and what they think about them.
