INTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO USE IT: This Excel game is to be used as a sort of quiz game in Chemistry and Geology. The file contents two Excel sheets (bottom left of the screen), one for each subject. The user (student) will see several pictures related to these subjects, and in the box underneath he/she will write the word which describes the picture. If it is correct, it will be so announced with a green background. If not, it will be red and the user will be asked to try again.

AIMS:
To revise and extend students’ knowledge of butyric carbohydrates
To systemize students’ knowledge of butyric carbohydrates
To put into practice the acquired knowledge of the structure, isomerism and chemical properties of the butyric carbohydrates
To illustrate the connection between the carbohydrates by means of chemical reactions
To develop students’ thinking and imagination by means of different logical operations- synthesis, analysis, comparison, analogy

The class is divided into 6 groups. Three of the groups will deal with the morphological signs of the 3 races and the other three groups – with the physiological signs. Each group uses a computer with an Internet connection to find out the signs they are allotted. The teacher specifies the time the students may have. Then each group presents what they have found out.

Methodological ideas described below are suggestions for lessons which can be carried out in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd form of secondary school. Their subject matter is directly connected with the curriculum for the III and IV stage of education (middle school and secondary school) as well as with the standards of exam requirements. These suggestions and methodological ideas for teachers combine factual knowledge with practical use of the Internet.
