To which extent have the students really got fully involved in the different projects or they have just followed teachers' directions in order to complete their project tasks?

Following teachers' directions is easier, this is the reason why some students have adopted this way of doing things. When it comes to personalising the tasks, it requires more time, bigger efforts, thinking and creativity. Of course, there are always perfectionists, who do their best, set their hearts on doing the task, do it in their unique way and the result is wonderful.

I think that our students followed the instructions for what to do. Then they were creative when making the designs for the logos and also in contributing with their own ideas for topics for the contents in the films.

As it has been mentioned, it is easier for students to follow instructions, and we are educated with this mindset. However, I believe that when we are given the chance, we can come up with bright ideas, and under the guidance of a teacher, success is guaranteed.

I have to subscribe to some of the things said by the above posters regarding students' tendency to follow indications from the teachers rather than take the initiative and come up with their own ideas. I think that this type of rigid mindset can be a bit of a problem in Romanian schools, so it's very important that students are given the possibility to practice their ideas in a safe environment before trying to attempt developing a project on their own. For instance, initiatives like the film festival offer the perfect frame for students to use their creativity and ideas, although still within the limits, and targets set by teachers.
The ideal solution would probably be a laxer one, where teachers set a more general goal, as well as a deadline for it, and students simply try to find the best/most creative way to achieve it.

the more instructions the more they need instructions:) If the chance is given, the students can create interesting ideas, brainstorming is inevitable.

The weakest point of the project so far, but it is being solved little to little. I would say it is getting better.
