Teaching innovatively (with focus on ICT) and its impact on the quality of education

Is the innovative way of teaching/studying more effective than the traditional one? Share your personal experience.

Most students nowadays are familiar with computers, televisions and other modern appliances and generally regard them as something relaxing and fun-related. Therefore, by using these modern means of technology in the classroom, students might associate learning with something fun and enjoyable, rather than boring and tiring. For example, I find myself much more attentive in class when a teacher shows us a movie or an interactive presentation rather than just writing down a lesson. That's probably because of the way the lesson is presented. Of course, in around twenty-thirty years children will probably think that televisions and computers are just as boring as textbooks are nowadays... But something even more captivating will have definitely been invented by then.

In most areas- yes, when it comes to grammar structures and vocabulary, students acquire the new material much easilier if presented in an innovative way. When it comes to writing tasks, the old way of writing on a sheet of paper is more fruitful.

There are areas where innovative teaching is way better- drawing math functions for examples.

Due to the technology at which we have acces to nowadays it is more easy to learn in an interactive and more interesting way.

Ah, the eternal battle between old and new... Well, the best way is probably a combination of both approaches. It's not productive to qualify one approach as being better than another. It is, however, apt to say that some ways of teaching are better suited for some topics, while others work more efficiently on other types. In other words, the "traditional approach", with the standard materials of notebooks, textbooks, boards, works for most topics, and has the added advantage of being time-saving and not pretentious. Innovative approaches, such as using short films, documentaries, educational software, still have the drawback of being time-consuming and needing some preparation beforehand, mostly for the technical aspects, as well as carrying the risk of having various bits of vital equipment breaking down at the most inappropriate moments. In an ideal future, when all classrooms have the necessary gadgets, and teachers only work with groups of students of about 15, and each subject is allocated more than 2 classes per week, it would make perfect sense to focus more on using the innovative methods, which definitely capture the attention of the students more, and are the more attractive learning experience. In the meantime, we must content ourselves to use a combination of traditional and innovative approaches, in an attempt to make learning easy, fun, and generating durable results.

It is known that is easier for anyone to understand something if he or she can see how's happening. So, I'm sure the innovative way of studying is more effective than the traditional one.(in my case, for example, it is easier to learn a chemical reaction if I see how's happening than learning some letters form a paper)

The use of ICT to teach may be more effective when the students has to imagine what happens, specially in science. A presentation, a video or an interactive activity achieves to catch the student's attention, and that's the beginning of the learning. Therefore the traditional way of teaching is also necessary, we can use both to improve our teaching.

I think it is more effective to use the innovative way.
